For the Love of Math

Teachers will investigate geometry core standards while working through several math explorations using critical thinking and higher order questioning skills.  Participants will ride through wet paint, determine which section of a cube is painted and which is not, use Pythagorean to create shells and go to a party, and more.  This hands-on workshop will give teachers problems and ideas to take back to their classrooms for use with their students.

Debra Polak is currently the Math, Science and Technology Coordinator, as well as the Computer teacher, at Evergreen Academy Middle School.  She has been educating Evergreen students for the past twenty-two years.  She loves working with teachers and students to create an environment where learning is a priority.

Carla Gurgone is currently the seventh grade Math teacher and eighth grade Honors Literature teacher at Evergreen Academy Middle School.  This is her fifth year teaching at Evergreen.  She loves teaching middle school and is enjoying teaching Math this year.
