AIMS Fall Multilingual Summit

With nearly three decades of passion for supporting culturally and linguistically diverse learners, Traci Wiegel has become a trusted leader in multilingual education. For the past fifteen years, she has guided Indian Prairie School District 204 as coordinator for multilingual learners, building on thirteen earlier years as an ESL and bilingual classroom teacher. A lifelong learner herself, Traci holds degrees from North Central College, Aurora University, and Northern Illinois University, and she continues to shape the next generation of educators as an adjunct instructor at the University of St. Francis, where she teaches ESL endorsement courses and is proudly helping launch her district’s tenth cohort this fall.

This interactive session will explore cooperative learning structures designed to support multilingual learners. Participants will experience various engaging activities that target all four language domains and can be used across content areas. The session will include focused discussion on the benefits of each structure, practical ideas for differentiation, and time for colleagues to collaborate on how to implement these strategies with their students. Participants should bring their ACCESS scores, as we will dedicate time to analyze, plan, and collaborate using your data for the 2026-2027 school year.
