The AIMS Multilingual Summit is an outstanding professional development opportunity for middle-level multilingual educators, directors, specialists, and administrators across the region.

Join us on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Walter R. Sundling Middle School in Palatine, IL, for a focused morning session dedicated to empowering multilingual learners. Led by the exceptional Carly Spina, AIMS Board Member and Multilingual Specialist at the Illinois Resource Center (IRC), this summit features practical, high-impact learning strategies tailored for newcomers and multilingual students, including effective scaffolding, culturally responsive instruction, equity-focused advocacy, and inclusive classroom practices that drive real academic and social-emotional growth.

Participants will benefit from dedicated collaboration time to network with like-minded professionals, share best practices, and build connections that strengthen multilingual programs in our schools. Carly’s sessions are always engaging and highly sought-after, often selling out due to her expertise and inspiring approach. As a special highlight, we’ll raffle off 5 copies of her newly published book, Igniting Real Change for Multilingual Learners: Equity and Advocacy in Action. Attendees will have the opportunity to take home this valuable resource for ongoing impact.

The event is FREE for AIMS members and just $50 for non-members, with 3 CPDUs available. Don’t miss this chance to connect, collaborate, and grow!
